Henry McMillan- Vlad's best friend and his drudge (its when a vampire bites a human that has never been bitten for the first time making them have a special connection). He is very popular at school and is very loyal to Vlad when his cousin Joss comes back to town.
Joss McMillan- Henry's cousin and a member of the Slayer society. His mission is to eliminate the three known vampires in Bathory: Vlad, Otis, and Vikas.
Otis- Vlad's uncle and a vampire. Otis and Tomas are not really bothers, they were created by the same vampire making them somewhat family. He is a friend of Vikas and the fiancé of Nelly.
Nelly- Vlad's guardian and Mellian's best friend. She is Otis's girlfriend and at the end of the book Otis proposes to her and she accepted.
Snow- She is one of Vlad's drudges. She is fed upon Vlad regularly and has a crush on him. She is very understanding and listens to Vlad. She is then released as Vlad's drudge because he has feelings for her and doesn't want to believe it.
Meredith Brookstone- Vlad's ex-girlfriend who he still has feelings for. He broke up with her last year because of his hunger for blood and wanted to protect her.
Vikas- Vlad's mentor and a Siberian vampire. He teaches Vlad how to use his vampire skills throughout the book.
Tristain- Vikas's drudge. Vlad met him in Siberia and is killed by D'Ablo for revenge.
D'Ablo- A vampire and was friends with Tomas Tod. He is the leader of the group that worships the Pravus. He has been trying to take the Pravus powers for himself and the only way to do that is to kill Vlad. He is also a member of the Council of Elders.
Dorian- A powerful vampire and the Keeper of the Pravus prophecy. He has this overwhelming desire to drinks Vlad's blood. At the end of the book he is killed by Joss, but not before passing on the prophecy to Vlad.
Em- The oldest living vampire but takes the form of a 17 year old teenage girl. She is also the leader of the Council of Elders.
Eddie Poe- A student at Bathory High and works for the school newspaper. He keeps trying to figure out what Vlad is and wants to get a picture to show the school what Vlad really is. He teams up with Joss to expose Vlad to the school. He then gets kick out of the High School when he writes an article saying that vampire is a vampire.
Tomas Tod- Vlad's father (not created). He was married to Mellian. Tomas was thought to be dead but at the end of the book he is supposedly alive when he comes back and stops Vlad from killing Joss.
